Great action on the courts today where the Men’s Intermediate Doubles got right into some intense play on this hot and sunny day.
With only 5 teams, games were played to 15, and luckily for the Gold medalists, as they were trailing their opponents 11-3 before staging an epic comeback to take the game 15-13 in game 5 and finishing undefeated. Kongrats to Steve Esselborn and Darrel Short for winning the Gold and Silver to Mike Fritz and Tony Birchall.
In the Bronze game, the victory goes to the Charles Painter and Pat Wilson, where experience beat out the youngsters, Matthew Penasse and Colin Clarke, 15-9. Kongrats, Chuck and Pat.
Matthew and Colin, and Paul and Rick, while you only got 1 win each today, you played some really competitive matches. Well done!
And thanks to fans who came to watch the show and for sharing cookies from the sideline.
