The Singles Women’s and Men’s Under the Age of 65, is Sunday, June 30, 10a at Ezell!
Incredibly, we have 14 men ready to roll and I would have tried to fit a couple more in but, on top of that, 4 women are equally game to play with fire!
The 4 women will play a full round robin match of 3 games where they will face each other once, Games will be to 15, win by 1 with the top 3 collecting medals. Rank will be determined by Wins, Total Points and then Points Differential.
I had to make a decision about the men’s format as I saw what the heat was doing during last week’s game. I was thinking about splitting the draw into 2 halves like last week but that would push the regular game play to 7 games, with a player getting a bye in each round, and then the top 2 from each draw meeting in the finals. I think I would need to bring a spatula because you might be fried after going as many as 8 games.
So for the men’s, I will fall back to my normal random round robin of 5 games, with the top 4 in Total Points, then Wins and Points Differential making their way to the finals. Games will be to 15, win by 1.
And, yes, I will be trying to stream again. Hope the noise from the cooling fan will remain tolerable as it did help the gear stay up the entire time last week.
