What an amazing final day of the year for the King Kong Tournaments at Ezell today. It was a cool but sunny start of the day but with the play today, it got nice and warm pretty fast.
In the end, 3 undefeated teams and 1 team with one loss proceeded to the finals. Gold was claimed by the team of Maureen Plainfield and Jodi Kest as they defeated Mark Montgomery and Kathy Pals, 11-8, and then Moon Toomey and Mary Dalu, 11-1. Moon and Mary got Silver for reaching the finals by defeating Michael and Robert Danielson in a tight game, 12-10. Mark and Kathy won the Bronze by defeating Michaele and Robert, 11-7.
I’m impressed each time I see everyone play and how many of your games have improved. Kongrats and thanks to all the participants, spectators and volunteers who have made these tournaments some kind of special. Happy New Year and to more great pickleball in 2024!
