What another amazing day at the King Kong Tournaments! Today we hosted the reschedule of The Villages Mixed Open (no ratings) and what a lineup it was!
18 teams came to conquer and of the 18, 4 remained unbeaten and unbowed. The semis took care of 2 more teams leaving the final 2 to go for the Gold.
That honor went to Brad Wahrendorf and Marianne Mayer by first winning 11-5 over Rob Schultz and Pam Copeland, and then Sharon Miller and Andy Biederman, 15-7. Sharon and and Andy earned the Silver by taking down Mark Montgomery and Kathy Pals in their semis 11-3. Rob and Pam earned the Bronze, winning 11-3 over Mark and Kathy.
The games were live streamed over YouTube but I later found out that the feed cut out after 1.5 hrs into the tournament. Sorry about that but I’ll keep trying and get the bugs worked out. Needless to say, I did get part of the Finals and the 2v3 Semis and the Bronze games recorded on my GoPro for sharing later.
Kongrats to all the medalists and teams that came to play. Thanks again to my volunteers, Chas Popplestone, Julie Ferron and Jeremy Ross. And thanks once more to all the fans who came out to watch! Special thanks to Doug McClintock for refereeing the Gold medal match-I owe you a beer!

This is the saved live stream on the King Kong Tournaments YT channel. It has about an hour of open play and then an hour and a half of the tournament (around game 3) before the feed quit.

I’m still working on processing and loading the Semis 2 v 3, Bronze, and end of the Gold/Silver Final.
