Wow! Who’s having more fun than us? Nobody!
The weather gave us some fits with wet courts early but we managed to get the courts dry and playable. And when the women finally took to the courts, they really gave us a show!
Six teams of 6. Five matches. Two games to 11, win by 1, per match. Ten games, with each averaging 20 min, we needed all 4 hrs and then some to get the games in, including the 30 min delay to dry the courts.
Hats off to all the participants! There were some truly amazing games played today. In the end, it came down to 2 teams: Team 1, captained by Nancy Summers, and Team 4, captained by Deidre Manns, going down to the wire for a spot in next week’s finals. Both teams traded turns at the top throughout the day and in the final matchup of the day, Team 1 captured the spot by winning 4 out of 6 games and finishing with a final tally of 24 wins to Team 4’s 21.
