It was another fine Sunday for Week 2 of the King Kong Tournaments MLP League.
Four teams are beginning to assert themselves in the Champions League by winning their matches the second week in a row: Born to Rally, Simply Smashing, the Thunder Chickens, and Dink Floyd. The White division is also the only bracket with 2 teams that remain perfect in match play: Simply Smashing and the Thunder Chickens. If they continue their winning ways, it’s going to be a fabulous finish to the season as they don’t meet until the final week.
In the hunt for the best of the rest are the Super DUPRs (aka Team Bruton), OMG and the Red Hot Chili Picklers, each with 4 pts, and trailing the Baseline Ballers with 5 pts. The Super DUPRs are doing it the hard way by going into the Dreambreakers the second week in a row, beating Smash ‘n’ Dash, 21-14, for the win.
In the Challengers League, we’re down to three perfect teams in match play: Made You Dink, the Can-Am Crushers, and the Rally Wreckers. If Made You Dink and the Can-Am Crushers win again next week, they’ll have their face-off in week 4 of play. In the hunt for the top finisher in the White bracket are Lucky 13 with 5 pts and Ace Holes at 4 pts. Lucky 13 edged out Ace Holes by taking their Dreambreaker decisively, 21-3. Two other Dreambreakers were played with Dinkalings over taking the Paddle Pups Unleashed in a marathon 28-26 game and Team Six, edging out the Little Debbie’s, 21-19.
