Upcoming Women’s 6.5 and Under this Sunday and other news!

Women's 6.5 and Under Lineup

Wow, it was a mad rush to fill the final spot with 3 teams submitting their entries yesterday afternoon. The team of Denise Striano and Pam Gray just beat out the teams of Debbie LaVallee and Amy Pettit, and of Tami Downs and Judy Lee.

It’s a pretty balanced lineup up and down the card so I’m expecting a competitive day of play. Come on out and watch the rising stars duke it out, Sunday, 10a at Ezell, or if you can’t be there, root them on at home by tuning in to the livestream: https://www.youtube.com/@JohnnyKingKong/streams

Let’s Go!

Schedule for the rest of 2024

We still have a few make up games yet to complete and trying to get everyone on the same page is like herding cats!

At some point, we’ll get the Bronze medal game from this summer’s Men’s Age 64 and Under wrapped up and the playoffs for the Mixed 6.5 and Under moving.

The Men’s 6.5-8.0 rained out from October is now scheduled for December 8. Signups are closed for new entries but may reopen November 26 should some teams withdraw because they are not available.

Take not Singles players! For the rest of December, we’ll have 2 singles tournaments to close out the year.

  • Singles Women’s and Men’s 4.0 Plus will be 12/15 (signups open 12/3 @ 8:30p)
  • Singles Women’s and Men’s 3.5 or Lower will be 12/22 (signups open 12/10 @8:30p)

The weekends of 11/24, 12/1 and 12/29 will be available for open play, subject to change.

MLP is coming to the King Kong Tourney in 2025

Heads up! MLP style play is coming to the King Kong Tournaments in 2025!

In January, I will schedule some test tournaments to familiarize people who have never experienced it before.

Then in February and March, we’ll be looking to host 2 months of round robin play with a total of 16 teams in 2 divisions: The Champions League and The Challengers League.

The teams in the Champions League will be composed of 4 players, (2 women and 2 men) with a max combined rating of 18 (ie: if you can manage to get two 5.0 players then remaining players must have a combined 8.0).

For the Challengers League the max combined rating will be 15 with similar requirements of having teams of 2 women and 2 men and following the same combined ratings logic.

If this interests you, get in touch with me at johnnykong@kingkongtournaments.com. I will be looking to recruit 16 captains, 8 for each league, who will bring their own team to play (no draft)!
