What a spectacular day for pickleball! Sunny, mild to warm and no wind! Winner, winner, chicken dinner! And let’s not forget the games! And what games they were!
Of the 18, only Kim and John Buffington got through unbeaten. In second were Tracy and Ron Herzog with 1 loss by 1, followed by Maureen Plainfield and Tommy Musone, also with a single loss but by 2. In the fourth and final spot were Judi and Bill Bohr with 52 points and 3 wins, beating out 2 other teams with 51 points and 4 wins (remember, because it’s not a full round robin, it’s points over wins).
And the Gold Medal winners were Judi and Bill, winning in the rematch of the day over Kim and John, 13-11 (they lost their first game of the day 9-11 to the Buffs), and then pouring it on over Maureen and Tommy, 11-1. Maureen and Tommy got the Silver by beating Tracy and Ron 11-6. Tracy and Ron denied the Buffs from being repeat medal winners and taking the Bronze, 11-6. Kongratulations to the medalists and to everyone playing today!
And thank you to Chas Popplestone, Julie Ferron, and Lisa Graham for keeping the scoreboard square and to everyone who came to watch in person or on the FB live stream! Hope that YT will enable me to stream directly on that platform next week.
