What an absolutely picture perfect day for pickleball and week 4 of the King Kong Tournaments MLP League!
In the Champions League, the top teams in each of the brackets held on to their pole positions with each team winning their matches (Born to Rally, Simply Smashing, and Dink Floyd). The race for the fourth seed is heating up with 1 team sitting at 10 pts (Thunder Chickens), 3 at 8 (Super DUPRs, OMG, and Baseline Ballers) and one at 7 (Red Hot Chili Picklers). Next week’s matchup will feature showdowns between several teams that will determine who makes it into the finals.
Red Division:
– Super DUPRs v Born to Rally (Super DUPRS have to win to take the division)
– OMG v Ball Busters (OMG is playing for a chance at the fourth seed but need to win combined with a loss by the Supers and Ballers)
White Division:
– Simply Smashing v Thunder Chickens (The Chickens have a chance of stealing the division with a victory, but Smashing have enough points to guarantee the 4th seed if this happens)
Blue Division:
– Baseline Ballers v Dink Floyd (Floyd has sewn up the division but can knock the Ballers out completely with a win)
The fourth seed might have a 3-way tie between OMG, the Chickens, and Ballers. If this occurs, we will play a round robin set of Dreambreakers to determine the 4th seed.
In the Challengers League, the 2 leaders are beginning to pull away from the field in their respective divisions. Can-Am Crushers handed Made You Dink their first loss and moving the Spinners and Smashers into second in the Red Division. The Rally Wreckers bulldozed Lucky 13 on their way to another victory and tighten the race for second between the Ace Holes with 7 pts and Lucky 13 at 8. With 3 more matches in the regular season, everything is still up for grabs but those in second or third need to make a move now.
