The Super Gremlins, Let’s Make a Dill and Dinkin’ Donuts all survived the first round single elimination matches, proving that they were indeed the top 3 teams in the league.
Carpe Dinkem gave everything they had and, for the first time all season, pushed the Super Gremlins to a Dreambreaker, ending their perfect record in match play. The Gremlins would be pushed hard one more time after winning their first round medal match against Let’s Make a Dill and having to go to a second Dreambreaker against the Dinkin’ Donuts to finish with 5 pts and the Gold in the finals.
Let’s Make a Dill cruised in their opening playoff match against the Aceholes, dropping only their second Mixed Doubles match to move on to the medals round. They lost 3 tough fought games against the Gemlins and ran out of steam in their second match against the Donuts to earn the Bronze.
The Donuts fought a tough Slice is Right team, with the women dropping their game to the Slice and then getting their heads back in the game to take both Mixed Doubles to move on to the finals. There, they once again tested the Gremlins and, for the second time this season and this day, forced the Gremlins into a Dreambreaker. In their second match, they left nothing to chance and won their first 3 games against the Dills to claim Silver.
