It was a fantastic finish to the regular season of the King Kong Tournaments MLP Summer League!
The Super Gremlins capped off the first place finish with a perfect season but did experience their first mixed doubles loss in match play to the fiesty Dinkin’ Donuts, and giving hope to all the playoff bound teams for next week.
The Donuts briefly retook second with their first match win over The Gangsta’s and Let’s Make a Dill dropping their match to the Aceholes. But the Dills reclaimed second when they won their second match over Dink-N Go-Nuts and the Donuts getting dunked by the Gremlins.
The Aceholes won both their matches but failed to move up in the standings as The Slice is Right did their part and won both their matches, too, to keep fourth to themselves.
Carpe Dinkem had a rough day taking 2 losses as their heart and soul (Di and Spencer) are out on a cruise. But, fortunately, they earned enough points in the season to earn the sixth spot in the playoffs.
Dink-N Go-Nuts went 1-1 to stay ahead of The Gangsta’s, who also went 1-1, to finish 7th and 8th, respectively.
Closing out the standings, the Cart Crashers and Star Spangled Smashers finished 9th and 10th, respectively. While they only had a victory over each other during the regular season, their level of play most definitely improved as the season progressed. Don’t sleep on them as they may surprise you in the future!

First round of the playoffs will be a single elimination match with the Super Gremlins facing Carpe Dinkem, Let’s Make a Dill versus Aceholes and Dinkin’ Donuts against The Slice is Right.
Winners will move on and play for Gold, Silver and Bronze in a round robin final.
