Exciting but Windy Kickoff to the MLP Unlimited Winter League

What an exciting but windy day of play for the kickoff of the MLP Unlimited Winter League at the King Kong Tournaments.
 
In the Blue bracket, it was the Double D’s over the Designated Dinkers, Kitchen Carnage over Jim & Friends, and the Honey Badgers over the Net Warriors. All the winning teams won each of their doubles matches for a 4-0 sweep, however, the Double D’s were the only teams not to get extended into a third game as Kitchen Carnage (Women’s) and Honey Badgers (Mixed 1) were. So as a last minute change, I added Points Differential as the second tiebreaker between teams (rewarding more efficient wins with greater points differential over total points scored – this may get amended to include game winning percentage).
 
In the White bracket, both The Lobsters and WIZARDS also went 4-0, and 8-0 in their games played, over Welcome to the Jungle and the Unforced Terrors, respectively. The Lobsters edged the WIZARDS by 14 points in the points differential department to give them the top spot. The Final Four earned the third spot by winning 3-1 to the Dreambreakers. This was a pretty competitive contest as the Final Four dropped their Men’s Double and needed their 2-1 win in Mixed Doubles 1 to avoid getting into a Dreambreaker with the imposing Dreambreakers namesake.
 
Great job everyone! The season is still young so plenty of opportunities to level the playing field next week! And thanks to the fans who came to watch and Miriam Bernstein for assisting with distributing team packages.
