Daylight Savings Time brought summer like conditions back to the courts to supplement the heat generated in W2 of the Unlimited Winter League Playoffs!
The Lobsters continued to dominate and cooked the Kitchen Carnage, winning all four of their matches, 2-0, to remain undefeated.
The WIZARDS put a spell on the Final Four, taking 3 of 4 matches, and moved up to second after the Honey Badgers dropped the Double D’s, also 3-1, in the most competitive contest on the Champions side today. Two of the four matches went to 3 games, with many exciting rallies in those games. The Badgers brought in extra firepower with Kris Schaefer to sub for the absent Tex McCorkle, however, they might need to retain a counselor now for Jodi and Kris. These were the first outright losses by the D’s.
Over in the Gerkins draw, we had 2 dreambreakers played. In the first, Jim & Friends outlasted the namesake, Dreambreakers, and in the second, it was the Net Warriors that hacked through the Jungle. There was some pretty spice matches in those contest as the Dreambreakers had to win their final match 2-1 to send them into the Dreambreaker. The Net Warriors and Welcome to the Jungle had their Men’s and Mixed 2 Doubles also go to three games, with the Jungle needing the 2-1 win in Mixed 2 to get to the Dreambreaker.
The Unforced Terrors manage to win all four of their matches but the Dinkers made it tough on them by forcing both the Women’s and Men’s Doubles into 3 game sets.
