What a beautiful late summer day of pickleball at the King Kong Tournaments MLP Summer League!
The Super Gremlins clinched 1st for the playoffs with their win over the Dink-N Go-Nuts and then another over the Star Spangled Smashers in their bid to go perfect through the regular season.
In the hot contest for 2nd, Let’s Make a Dill overtook the Dinkin’ Donuts and stayed in front with a second victory over Carpe Dinkem. The Donuts stayed in close pursuit with a second match win over the Cart Crashers.
The Slice is Right avoided dropping out of 4th by dropping the Aceholes in match one and kept the race interesting with a follow-up win over the Gangsta’s.
The Aceholes and Carpe Dinkem remained tied up points-wise, with each finishing the day at 27 pts by virtue of the Aceholes winning their second match over Dink-N Go-Nuts and Dinkem winning their first match over the Gangsta’s. In reviewing their overall records, the Aceholes are in 5th due to their beating Dinkem twice during the season.
The Cart Crashers finally got on the board with their first match victory over the Star Spangled Smashers.
Next week is the final week of the regular season with 2nd, 3rd and 4th still up for grabs. The interesting matchups will be:
- Let’s Make a Dill v Aceholes in match 1
- Super Gremlins v Carpe Dinkem in match 1
- Super Gremlins v Dinkin’ Donuts in match 2
- Carpe Dinkem v The Slice is Right in match 2
The Slice is Right needs a win to stay in the top 4.
Dinkin’ Donuts needs a win to finish no worse than 3rd.
Let’s Make a Dill needs a win to finish no worse than 2nd.
Aceholes and Carpe Dinkem need to win both their matches for a chance at 4th.

Once again, I encountered some technical issues but this time isolated to 1 new camera mount that refused to stay in place for the GoPro on Court 3. Fortunately, I was able to rotate those portions back to right side up while the camera was dangling, although the framing is less than perfect.
