01/07/24 and/or 01/14/24 – Women’s Tournament

The Specifics:

There will be 2 Winter Cup events, one for women and another for the men.

Depending on the number of teams signing up, it can be 2 consecutive weekends of play, with the finalists from week 1 needing to return to face the finalists in week 2 on week 2.

Women’s Dates: Jan 7 (if needed) and Jan 14 (originally proposed date)

Men’s Dates: Jan 21 (if needed) and Jan 28 (originally proposed date)

The original intention was to have 6 teams of 6 face off in a single weekend but I understand that there twice as many teams interested in participating, hence splitting the event into 2 weekends each.

Here’s the catch, I can only work with either:

• 6 – single weekend of play only, 5 matches with 2 games per match
• 8 – 2 weekends, 3 matches but each likely to be 3 games per match, with the winners of the first weekend to return the following weekend to face the winner of week 2
• 12 – 2 weekends of 6, with the winners of the first weekend to return the following weekend to face the winner of week 2

Winners will be determined by Team Wins, Team Points with Team Points Differential and Head-to Head result as the tie-breakers.

Each team will need to have:

• One 4.5 rated player
• Two 4.0 rated players
• Two 3.5 rated players
• One 3.0 rated player

Teams will need to play the following doubles games in each match:

Game 1

• 4.5 + 4.0(1)
• 4.0(2) + 3.5(1)
• 3.5(2)+3.0

Game 2

• 4.5+4.0(2)
• 4.0(1)+3.5(2)
• 3.5(1)+3.0

• 4.5+3.5(2)
• 4.0(1)+3.5(1)
• 4.0(2)+3.0

6/12 team draw (repeated for second weekend, winners of first week need to return to play the final in second week)

• Match 5    5v6    2v3    1v4

• Age 50+
• $10 fee from each team to cover the cost of the prize
